Show Statement
The 20/20 Photo Festival comes to Philadelphia this fall with the theme History Informs the Contemporary—a unique, citywide celebration of photography in all of its forms. The festival will function within a local, national, and international context, reflecting the diversity of contemporary photography and its roots in the historical. As part of the Festival, there will be an exhibition dedicated to portraiture at Philadelphia’s esteemed Cherry Street Pier. Artists are encouraged to explore the History Informs Contemporary theme through the use of their subjects, their relationship to history, the photographic process itself and more.

Cherry St. Pier Gallery Space
Created for and by the Philadelphia community, Cherry Street Pier is a mixed-use public space on the central Delaware River waterfront. Built into the shell of a century-old municipal pier, it is a year-round creative incubator, marketplace, performance venue, and social space for all of Philadelphia to enjoy. See photos attached of the gallery space and check out their website for location and open hours: https://www.cherrystreetpier.com/

Printing and Installation
Because of the partially outdoor nature of the gallery space at Cherry St. Pier, we will be printing your work on Tyvek so no original artwork will be damaged. We will be hanging the photos with magnets since the gallery is made out of steel shipping containers. One image from each selected artist will be printed 30x40”ish depending on their aspect ratio. The files should be uploaded to a specified Gravy Studio Google Drive folder by August 14th. We will delete the high res files after the exhibition has come down. In early October, the prints will be available for pick up at Gravy Studio or email us if you would like to pay for them to be shipped directly to you.
